Site Spotlight: Junior Energy
Junior Energy shows kids that small changes can make a big difference when it comes to saving energy, and tells them how they can become part of the solution.

With accessible language, an easy-to-navigate layout and an animated video, the site explores the relationship between people, energy and the environment, and explains how kids can get involved in saving power, money and ultimately, the planet. Specifically, the site demonstrates how switching from incandescent to compact fluorescent (CFL) light bulbs translates to a 75 percent savings on energy and significant reductions in the electric bill. The organization also helps students raise funds for their schools by selling CFL light bulbs to family, friends and neighbors—the schools keep all of the profits. Junior Energy plans to introduce other energy-saving initiatives in future.
