Site Spotlight: DoSomething.org
by Liz Colville
Do Something is a site that connects teenagers and young adults with volunteer opportunities and also offers the funds to make them happen.

On Do Something, teens and college students can browse a large database of volunteer projects by category, pitch their own projects, and watch and discuss important issues in user-uploaded videos. DoSomething awards $500 grants to philanthropic individuals and groups, and awards $100,000 to the top volunteer idea of the year. The site also has a great blog called “Celebs Gone Good” that spotlights philanthropic projects undertaken by stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Wyclef Jean.
