1. Rooted in Him for Steady Growth: Colossians 2:6–7
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
This verse emphasizes that true spiritual growth begins and continues in Christ. Being “rooted” in Him offers stability, while being “built up” signifies ongoing development. Just as a healthy tree grows deep roots and strong branches, our faith should be grounded in Jesus and strengthened by truth. Growth isn’t static, it requires nourishment, intentionality, and thankfulness along the way.
2. God Gives the Increase: 1 Corinthians 3:6–7
"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow."

"…But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Paul’s words reflect a forward-moving mindset essential to growth. Dwelling on the past hinders our ability to move toward spiritual maturity. Instead, we’re called to focus on God’s calling and strive for the eternal prize. Growth is active, it requires pressing, stretching, and persistence.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
