Jury selection has begun in the robbery-kidnapping trial of O.J. Simpson, who has pleaded not guilty in 12 counts that resulted from a heated incident last year in which he and several associates tried to reclaim sports memorabilia from a collector at a hotel room in Las Vegas.
A U.S. judge has ruled that J.K. Rowling’s copyright was violated by the Steve Vander Ark’s plans to publish an unauthorized guide to Rowling’s popular Harry Potter books. Vander Ark also operates the unauthorized Harry Potter Lexicon Web site.
Beleaguered Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej was in court on Monday defending a cooking show that he hosted early on in his term. The court will make a decision Tuesday on whether he violated the constitution by working for a private company.
