- If you can’t get tickets to exhibition games (or don’t want to pay for them), attend a team’s morning workout. These are almost always free and you can often get quite close to the players.
- Nine of the Cactus League teams are based in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The remaining three are based in Tucson, which is about a two-hour drive from Phoenix. Sports Travel and Tours has a “Cactus League Driving Distances Chart” in PDF format.
- Most spring training games are played in and around Phoenix. Watch games in Tempe, Mesa, Surprise, Peoria and Scottsdale, all of which are within driving distance of each other. Games are also played in Tucson.
