As my 25th birthday approached, I found myself in the throes of a quarter-life crisis. I decided that a trip to Italy would cheer me up, and I was right. Fresh pizza, stunning artwork and the realization that life expectancy in ancient Rome was only 35 soon had me living la dolce vita in Rome, Florence and Siena.

On our third day in Italy, we made our way back to Roma Termini and hopped on a train bound for Florence. As we approached, we marveled at the mountains of Tuscany. A city dweller since birth, I have an uncanny knack for confusing donkeys with cows and goats with pigs, but my confusion provided occasional amusement for us on the four-hour train ride.
