The Tribeca Film Festival: International Flavor

The Tribeca Film Festival is one of the most important American showcases of foreign film. Since 2001, its documentaries, shorts, and feature-length films routinely stun and educate their American audience with new takes on misunderstood or underexposed wars, crises, religions and beliefs.

In recent years, Tribeca has become a hip destination for Hollywood’s leading ladies and gentlemen, giving the festival and the ticket prices even more of a lift, increasing the allure of the event and making it one of the most expensive film festivals in the world. In 2005, one film critic thought Tribeca was doomed to be a star-less pity party for movies without distributors. Time has proved that critic wrong; today, Tribeca is yet another photo op for fashionable actresses, and an opportunity for actors and filmmakers to screen fresh and creative product from around the globe.
