Tumblr is one of the fastest and easiest ways to start blogging. Employing Web 2.0’s WYSIWYG (“what you see is what you get”) mantra, the site promises to get you posting and sharing “in ten seconds.” Register an e-mail address and build a simple but elegantly designed Web site that lets you share links, videos, pictures, and text.
Dodgeball, currently covering more than 20 cities in the U.S., uses online technology to connect you with your friends—via your phone. Register on the site and send your current hangout spot to Dodgeball, which will then send text-message updates to your friends. It’s a great way to use virtual technology and real-time events to connect with friends, friends of friends, and even potential mates.
