We all know that "the pen is mightier than the sword," but our Friday installment of The Daily Tilt suggests that even our esteemed politicians succumb to bouts of belligerence from time to time.

Watching C-SPAN can be, for lack of a better word, boring. Sometimes the legislators are dozing off while one of their colleagues monotonously explains his point of view for hours on end. But sometimes the heat is turned up, and politicians argue passionately until their opponents succumb to their verbal blows. But the fun really starts when the verbal blows turn into actual thrown punches. What ever happened to rhetoric?
