You’ve watched season finale after season finale. Now that they’re all over and the summer stretches out before you, you may feel a bit empty inside. But if you learned anything during the writers’ strike, it’s that when the going gets tough, reality TV gets going. Begin your week right by embarking on four nights of “Reality TV To See.”
Monday: “Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods”
When 12.5 million viewers tuned in for MTV’s airing of a performance of “Legally Blonde: The Musical,” the network knew it was on to something. One nationwide casting call later, and MTV had 10 would-be Elle Woods lined up to battle for the lead role in the musical. Playbill also notes that several theater professional and other celebrities are ready and waiting to help with coaching, while Hillary Duff hosts. While contestants singing for their supper may seem a bit “American Idol-ish,” keep your cell phones in your pocket. A team of theater professionals and casting directors will determine the winner.

Tuesday: “America’s Got Talent”
NBC wants to know: are you looking forward to the amazing acts? Or the embarrassing acts? You can visit the “America’s Got Talent” Web site and vote in the poll; highlights from last year may help you make your decision. Or get in touch with your inner “Baywatch” and hear judge David Hasselhoff talk about the contestants. Exploring the whole site should get you pumped for the June 17 premiere.

Wednesday: “Big Brother”
If you missed “Big Brother” on Sunday, and you missed it again on Tuesday, you can still watch it on Wednesday. In fact, just like the cameras in the house, it feels like “Big Brother” is always on. Season 10 of the show doesn’t premiere until July, but you can find out how to sign up for a live feed of the show if you’d like to be the one who’s always watching. (And while you’re waiting, the video below offers a choice moment from season 9.)

Thursday: “Greatest American Dog”
After three days of reality TV, you’re thinking, “Is there anything they can’t make a reality TV show about?” The answer is no, as confirmed by our Thursday night choice: “Greatest American Dog.” On this show, premiering on July 10, dogs and dog owners from all walks of life will live together in a house and compete to determine which pooch is “the best.” Some dogs will be show dogs, others will be regular pets, but one can only hope that the playing field will be leveled in this new breed of reality TV show. Note: we cannot guarantee that dogs will be performing George Michael songs in the finale.
