Munich, nestled on the edge of the Bavarian Alps in the south of Germany, isn’t your typical “surf town.” But while there are no sandy beaches or gnarly tides, locals can be found hanging ten on the waves of the city’s river, Eisbach. The standing waves of the manmade river reach a meter high and can be surfed for as long as one can balance on them.
